Like two separate parts of a conversation Nils Frahm and Anne Müller communicate something that words cannot replicate.  Frahm sets the stage for the keynote dialogue with delicate piano that continually gives way to drum samples and bass loops, as if being overwhelmed by the emotion that Müller responds with.  As a virtuoso cellist Müller expresses a warm but powerful sentiment through refined strings that fade in and out creating beautiful imagery and depth that only enhances Frahm’s performance instead of battling it.  ’7fingers’ is a brilliantly composed album that is one of the most emotional neoclassical albums this year.  With such a powerful collaboration we can only hope that Nils Frahm and Anne Müller continue to have conversations such as this in the time ahead.
