We like to think that we’re special at Nowlikephotographs; that we bring you the most far-out, epic music the world has to offer, and that few other radio stations do the same. Lately we were proven wrong, at least on one point. New Weird Australia has been playing the best experimental – and often instrumental – music from the Land Down Under for more than 25 years. Only recently have they started releasing digital compilations, available for free download at their website. The fourth compilation is largely dominated by minimal electronics and electro-acoustic, but also branches into freak-out noise mashups (a la Reunion Sacred Ibis) and charming ambient (from Gutter Parties).
