Cougar is yet another one of Now Like Photographs’ favourite artists that never fail to deliver the goods. And the goods this time around vary from sparse to spastic,  driven by some very precise drumming work, polyrhythms, and some rather mathy riffs. The positive moods fueling Patriot from the backseat of a summertime convertible may indeed prove out of place when nestled in with dark Minnesotan winter days, yet we at Now Like Photographs could not help ourselves with this one. It’s cohesive, thoughtful, and tightly packaged – everything we would expect from Cougar. So crank the volume past 10 with Patriot, your ears demand it.
