Aerosol – Airborne

AEROSOL MYSPACE / N5MD

The word “airborne” hasn’t had a positive connotation in the average citizen’s consciousness for a long time, probably since the Wright brothers took off of the ground from Kittyhawk, NC.  Since then, “airborne” has meant fighter jets and stealth bombers in the World Wars.  Recalling the Danish composers nom de plume, in the 1990s, “airborne” and “aerosol” were words associated with a looming hole in the ozone above Antarctica.  Lately, of course, we’ve all been fretting over airborne H1N1 particles.  It is high time to recognize all things airborne, including Rasmus Rasmussen’s 2nd release Airborne, to their former splendour.  Rasmussen combines slow-releasing synth melodies with stuttering glitch beats, and draws from such influences as Morocco, sleep-deprivation, and sunrises.  As corny as it may sound: listen to Airborne, take off, and fly away.
