Whoa, change! We know, it’s frightening; settle down. It’ll be okay. Sometimes there’s just so much good music out there that we wish we could bestow this Instrumental Record of the Week honor on more than one release and well, it got just too unbearable to be passive about any longer. And what better way to break the ice than with two beloved local artists. Not only that, they’re both duos and they both self-released their latest records. Oh and since they live just a hop and a skip away from our studios, of course we’ve had both of these artists in for a performance and an interview, giving us all the more reason to switch things up this week. Power of 2 make loud playful noises with distorted guitar and pounding percussion; this is their debut full-length. Falcon Arrow create epic soundscapes of just looping bass guitar and restrained drums; this is their second release and first EP.
