Peter Broderick – Music For Falling From Trees

June 3rd, 2009 · No Comments

2192PETER BRODERICK ON MYSPACE / WESTERN VINYL RECORDS

Mr. Broderick, sounds like a haunting spirit behind the microphone on his more-often-than-not vocally based work, but when he decided to focus solely on trembling piano and earth-shattering strings for this, his latest release, he did not lose his voice. Arguably even more magnetic and ethereal, the UK artist has captured some disturbingly beautiful and beautifully disturbing sounds on tape, this time as commissioned for a London dance production choreographed by Adrienne Hart. Both pieces document a man’s struggle to retain his identity while at a mental institution, and the results are staggering, proving a story can indeed be told without words. Get in the dark mood with Broderick on the latest nowlikephotographs podcast.
